Intelligent art: What AI and co. can teach us about human creativity
How do the new possibilities of AI influence the everyday lives of artists and our understanding of creativity? A panel discussion on AI, art, and culture in collaboration with TA-SWISS.
Materials, tools, and technologies have always played a central role in art. Now, for the first time, applications attributed with "artificial intelligence" are entering the mix. How do new digital tools and artistic creation interact? What role does AI play in art and culture? And what does this mean for human creativity?
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, TA-SWISS and HEK invite you to a public evening exploring digitalization, art, and AI. The discussion will be moderated by Eva Pauline Bossow and feature panelists Ramona Sprenger (Think & Do Tank Dezentrum), Esther Hunziker (artist), Stefano Kunz (Swiss Music Council), and Ueli Grüter (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts). The conversation will draw on the recently published TA-SWISS study Culture and Digitalization, which examines how digital technologies are shaping artistic practice and cultural diversity in Switzerland. For those seeking a more playful approach, an interactive platform offers a chance to explore the study: www.proofofculture.ch.
After the panel, an apéro invites you to enjoy engaging and relaxed conversations.
In addition, a workshop will take place from 16:00 to 17:30 in collaboration with the Dezentrum Think & Do Tank. The workshop offers a hands-on introduction to the functionality and potential of generative AI in culture, education, and everyday life. Tools like ChatGPT and DALL-E will provide a practical starting point, encouraging participants to explore the opportunities and limitations of AI in creative fields. Registration is required for the workshop.
