Leander Herzog launches the first online exhibition of 2026 on virtual.hek.ch. The Swiss artist creates dynamic, interactive abstractions with code for the web and is internationally known for his generative NFT works.
60 days, 60 works
For sixty days, Swiss artist Leander Herzog takes over the online exhibition space virtual.hek.ch with runtime. Each day, a new work appears, shown fullscreen and generated live in the browser. What you see exists only in that moment. There is no finished image, but an ongoing process.
runtime brings together sixty works from ten years of practice (2015–2025). Rather than a retrospective, the exhibition unfolds over time. The works respond to screen size, time of day, and longer temporal rhythms, making visible how ideas in working with code change and develop over the years. In this sense, runtime reads less as an archive and more as an ongoing practice.
