We are pleased to announce our curatorial partnership with Art Basel.
The presentation brings together a selection of five works from our collection. It includes web-based archives, game modifications, networked systems, glitches and data-driven sound. The booth traces a moment when artists began to explore the Internet not merely as a tool or technical format, but rather as a medium, space and system.
At the centre are thematic questions that establish socially relevant connections, address access to the sphere of information, reflect on and shape networked systems, make new aesthetic practices such as digital infrastructure and code visible, and thereby enable new forms of perception.
With works by !Mediengruppe Bitnik, etoy, JODI, UBERMORGEN and Studer/van den Berg, the presentation offers insight into artistic practices that emerged with the Internet and continue to shape how digital culture is perceived, questioned and preserved today.
