Weder politisch, noch ideologisch - aber durchaus aktionistisch, investigativ und gerne auch mal provokant, so präsentiert sich das international aktive Künstler:innenduo UBERMORGEN. Die Arbeit von lisvlx und Luzius Bernhard basiert auf intensiver Recherche und mündet meist in netzbasierten Projekten, Codes und bewusst störenden Eingriffen in diverse Systeme, seien es Massenmedien, Technologien oder sogar der Rechtsstaat.

UBERMORGEN erlangte durch die Medienberichterstattung über ihr Projekt Vote-Auction erstmals internationale Bekanntheit. Es handelte sich dabei um eine Online-Auktionsplattform, die während der US-Präsidentschaftswahlen im Jahr 2000 die Möglichkeit bot, die eigene Wähler:innenstimme zum Verkauf anzubieten. Andere Arbeiten des Duos sind keineswegs weniger kritisch und provokant. GWEI – Google Will Eat Itself etwa hat zum Ziel, den Global Player Google zu dekonstruieren, indem durch die Nutzung von Online-Werbeflächen generiertes Einkommen automatisch in Google-Anteile investiert und an Nutzer:innen rückverteilt wird.

Auch am NFT-Markt ist UBERMORGEN seit dem Launch ihrer Serie The D1cks präsent. Mit dem Launch dieser Pixel-Penis-Bilder nimmt UBERMORGEN eine ironische Haltung gegenüber dem Hype von Designer-NFTs ein, vor allem in Hinblick auf deren Nutzung als selbstrepräsentative Profilbilder. Auf die Designer-Avatare folgt nun eine neue Kollektion der NFT «Haute Couture» aus dem Hause UBERMORGEN, in Form der NFT-Serie crypto manifesto token #1-#10. Auch diese Arbeit des Duos referenziert humorvoll den Hunger nach prestigeträchtigen NFTs.

Alle drei Tage im November wird ein neuer crypto manifesto token gemintet, zu erwerben in Form von NFTs auf der Plattform fx(hash). Jeder Token enthält ein Manifest-Statement in der aktionistischen Tradition von UBERMORGEN.

Bio:

UBERMORGEN (‘the day after tomorrow’, CH/AT/US, *1995) is an artist duo with a steady worldwide presence, a synthesis of autistic actionist lizvlx (Liz Katlein) & pragmatic visionary Luzius Bernhard (formerly Hans Bernhard). They are net.art pioneers, ‘Media Hackers’ widely recognized for their Online Actionism, Haute Couture NFTs & Websites, Polarising Social Experiments, Radical Research, Dark AI, Binary Primitivism & Conceptualism; Artfacts calls their work ‘Ultra Contemporary’. CNN called them 'Maverick Austrian Business People' during their Vote-Auction project, reaching 500 million worldwide & challenging the FBI, CIA, & NSA (US presidential election 2000). A series of conceptual hacks (EKMRZ Trilogy, 2005-08) shook the foundations of the dominating e-commerce giants: ‘Google Will Eat Itself’, ‘Amazon Noir’, & ‘The Sound of eBay’. In 2021, ‘The Next Biennial Should be Curated by a Machine’ used AI-TikTikPop to catapult visitors into 64 twisted parallel universes.
