Stefanie Egedy – Sonic Energetics
Especially for Art Basel, Sonic Energetics expands the exhibition New Rituals [for the End of the World] with a bodily sound ritual.
Lie down on large cushions, immerse yourselves in a dimly lit room and experience how sound moves through the body. Sonic Energetics is an immersive sound installation by Stefanie Egedy that makes low frequencies not only audible, but physically perceptible.
Sub-bass, bass and infrasound are generated through subwoofers. The frequencies set the room in motion, move through the body and turn you into a resonating space. For 15 minutes, an intense moment between sound, vibration and perception opens up, in which time recedes into the background.
Stefanie Egedy is an artist and composer based in Berlin. In her practice, she works with low-frequency sound as a physical force that can be experienced through the skin, tissue and bones.
Duration: 15 minutes, starts every 30 minutes.
