Curatorial Tour with Sabine Himmelsbach
Discover «Thresholds» with Sabine Himmelsbach, Director of HEK and curator of the exhibition.
What lies behind the light, projections and seemingly immaterial spaces of Studio Lemercier?
Sabine Himmelsbach, Director of HEK and curator of Thresholds – On the Values We Set and the Limits We Cross, leads a guided tour of the exhibition, offering insights into the artistic ideas, research and social questions behind the works.
Thresholds brings together six new works alongside pieces spanning almost two decades of artistic practice. The exhibition takes visitors through immersive spaces of light and water, technological landscapes, delicate plotter drawings and experiments with solar energy. Works such as Edges explore geometry, projection and architecture, while Slow Violence reveals the destructive impact of fossil fuel extraction. Through its ongoing Solar Lab research, Studio Lemercier turns its attention to the sun, low-tech approaches and alternative ways of engaging with energy and resources.
During the tour, Sabine Himmelsbach explores the exhibition's central themes and invites visitors to reflect on the relationship between technology, nature and humanity, as well as our ecological responsibilities.
Included in the exhibition admission, at no additional cost. Registration required by Friday, 6 November 2026.
