Ever wondered how DJing actually works? What happens behind the decks – and how do smooth transitions between tracks come together? Join us for the second edition of our workshop with Femme Bass Mafia!
Join us for the second edition of our DJ workshop – this time with Femme Bass Mafia!
In this workshop, you'll learn the basics of DJing using professional equipment: how to mix tracks, what the different controls do, and the fundamentals of beatmatching. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity, a willingness to get hands-on, and ideally a USB stick with a few of your favorite tracks in MP3 format.
Femme Bass Mafia is a Berlin-based DJ collective and mentoring program that supports FLINTA* individuals in taking their first steps into the world of DJing. The collective is committed to creating more visibility and diversity in club culture and fosters safer, empowering spaces for learning and growth.
This session will be led by Dangermami and MSJY, two experienced DJs from the collective who will also perform the next day at Day Dance at HEK. More info on Day Dance 2025
Feeling inspired after the workshop? Come try out your new DJ skills at the next Open Decks session: every Thursday from 17:00 to 20:00 in the HEK foyer. It’s an open stage for anyone – whether you're practicing, experimenting, or just looking to listen and learn.
The workshop is limited to 10 participants. Registration required.
