Christina Kubisch

Christina Kubisch (*1948), Bremen, Germany, lives in Hoppegarten near Berlin.

Christina Kubisch is a sound artist known for infusing her works with elements of painting, music and electronics, which she studied in a variety of international locations. In her sound installations, sounds merge with other elements – including light, loudspeakers and electromagnetic-induction and solar-energy technologies – to create works of art. She works both indoors and out but is mostly focused on enabling visitors to experience a specific location in visually and acoustically complex ways. By entangling fantasy with reality, she makes visible the concrete structures of a place that involve atmosphere and reality.
