Pax Art Awards 2024

2024 marks the seventh edition of the Pax Art Awards. These art prizes, awarded by the Art Foundation Pax in collaboration with HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Basel, honour and promote media-specific practices of Swiss artists whose works involve media technologies or cast light on their impact.

The main prize of the Pax Art Awards goes to the artist Esther Hunziker. The jury honours Esther Hunziker with the main prize of CHF 30'000 for her long-standing and consistent work with digital mediums. With CHF 15'000 of the prize money, The Art Foundation Pax will support the artist in the production of a new work. The remaining CHF 15'000 will be used to acquire an existing work for the Art Foundation Pax collection. Two additional prizes are awarded to young, up-and-coming media artists. Alfatih and Stefan Karrer will each receive CHF 15'000, inclusive of prize money and the acquisition of an artwork.
